alocas Jungle Lodge, a lost paradise

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Unlike the majority of the lodges of the area, Malocas Jungle Lodge is located far enough away from Manaus (88 miles), truly away from the “civilized” world.
3 hours are necessary to reach it from town – by road and then by motor pirogue. This journey guarantees a total change of scenery and a real immersion in the Amazonian milieu.

No visit to Peru is complete without a visit to Machu Picchu. Located high in the Andean Mountains not visible from the valley below, this city has been re-discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. This mysteriousness that shrouds the city makes a visit all the more interesting. No place in South America, can compare to this marvelous city that appears to be some sort of mirage appearing and disappearing from a veil of clouds. One can stand up here for hours and watch time pass by. It was certainly the most important place to visit during my Peru vacation. The time we spent here will always be in my memory. (more…)
