Unlike the majority of the lodges of the area, Malocas Jungle Lodge is located far enough away from Manaus (88 miles), truly away from the “civilized” world.
3 hours are necessary to reach it from town – by road and then by motor pirogue. This journey guarantees a total change of scenery and a real immersion in the Amazonian milieu.
The establishment is constituted of an assembly of “malocas”, traditional circular huts, usually home to one or more families. From the white sand beach where we disembark, we immediately see the central hut, used as dinning area.

Angkor is a region of Cambodia that served as the seat of the Khmer Empire, which flourished from approximately the 9th to 15th centuries. The word Angkor is derived from the Sanskrit nagara (नगर), meaning “city”. The Angkorian period began in AD 802, when the Khmer Hindu monarch Jayavarman II declared himself a “universal monarch” and “god-king”, until 1351, when Angkor first fell under Ayutthayan suzainry, to 1431, when Ayutthaya put down a rebellion and sacked the Khmer capital, causing its population to migrate south to the area of Phnom Penh. The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest reef system[1][2] composed of over 2,900 individual reefs[3] and 900 islands stretching for over 2,600 kilometres (1,600 mi) over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres (133,000 sq mi).[4][5] The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in north-east Australia.

No trip to China would have been complete without paying a visit to some portion of the Great Wall. Above is a picture from the section of the Great Wall in Ba Da Ling, about 40 kilometers north of Beijing.
